Mahoe is a commercial design and build business working across New Zealand. We build lasting relationships with clients who value quality and want a construction partner they can work with again.
Pete leads the business and is directly involved from the first conversation through construction. He coordinates the design team and works with the consultants and subcontractors responsible for delivering each project.
That continuity matters. The person discussing your plans at the start stays involved as the design develops and the work gets under way.

Working through the design
Early decisions have a big influence on the cost and construction of a building. We work with designers and engineers to test the options, identify unnecessary cost and understand what each choice means for the finished project.
Value engineering is part of that work. We look for more efficient ways to achieve what the building needs to do, with careful consideration of quality and long-term performance.

Working with our clients
Our business is built on repeat work. We value open conversations, clear expectations and the trust that develops when people work together over time.
We want clients to understand the decisions in front of them. That means explaining options, raising issues early and being clear about the implications for cost and programme.

The details matter during design and on site. We stay involved in both, leading the project team to resolve questions and keep the work aligned with what has been agreed.
The name
Mahoe takes its name from a native tree.
Māhoe is a native New Zealand tree, also known as whiteywood.
